Once in a Blue Moon — Where Are You Ready to Shoot Your Arrow?

Once in a Blue Moon — Soul Sermon
Soul Sermon

The Sagittarius Full Moon, a rare convergence, and the six months that are asking you something different.

Once in a blue moon. We throw that phrase around like it just means something rare, something that does not happen very often. But when you actually look at what it describes, it is a moment in the sky that broke the ordinary pattern. Something showed up that was not supposed to happen yet. Something the regular rhythm could not explain.

That feels exactly right for where we are.

This Sagittarius Full Moon is very potent. It coincides with Uranus moving into Gemini, and that combination is doing something I want you to feel before you try to intellectualize it. The sky right now is holding two energies at the same time, and they are not opposites, they are actually partners. There is a completion here. Something is genuinely finishing. And there is also a rebirthing, a new beginning energy that is already moving underneath the surface of that ending. Both things are true simultaneously, and if you have been feeling a little disoriented lately, a little like you are somehow grieving and excited in the same breath, that is probably why. We will go much deeper into the Uranus in Gemini shift with the New Moon in Gemini, because that energy deserves its own full conversation. But know that it is present here, adding weight and electricity to everything this Full Moon is already stirring.

Sagittarius is the archer. And I want you to sit with that image for a moment, because it is not just a symbol. It is a whole philosophy about how this energy moves. The archer does not wander toward the target. The archer gets still, gets clear, draws the bow, and releases. The power is not in the running. The power is in the aim and the willingness to let go.

A Full Moon in Sagittarius does not let you look away from the gap between where you are and where your soul has actually been oriented this whole time. It illuminates that distance. Sometimes gently. Sometimes with a clarity that is almost uncomfortable in how precise it is.

The question this Full Moon is asking is not what do you want. The question is what is standing between you and the flow of it.

In what area of your life are you feeling the pull toward more freedom, more expansion, more aliveness, more exploration? Because most of us are not lacking direction. We know, somewhere underneath all the noise, where we want to go. The question this Full Moon is really sitting with over the next six months is this: what does releasing into freedom, expansion, and exploration actually look and feel like for you, and where in your life is that energy asking to move?

I want to stay with the word releasing for a moment, because I think it is the most important word in that question. Most of us have been taught to treat freedom like a destination. Like something we earn after enough discipline, enough sacrifice, enough proof that we are ready for it. So we keep working toward it, keep preparing for it, keep telling ourselves that once this thing resolves or that thing shifts, then we will finally feel free.

But releasing is not arriving somewhere. Releasing is recognizing that you have been holding on to something and choosing to loosen your grip. It means freedom is not waiting ahead of you. It has been here, and you have been holding on too tight to feel it.

So the real question becomes, what are you still holding?

Because that thing standing in the way looks different for everyone. For some it is a situation that has run its course but has not been formally released. For others it is a relationship, a dynamic, a version of a connection that no longer has room for who you are becoming. For some it is a limiting belief so familiar it stopped feeling like a belief and started feeling like a fact. Something that whispers you are not ready, it is not the right time, who do you think you are to want that much.

And sometimes the thing holding you back is not even external. Sometimes you are the one standing in front of your own arrow, gripping the bow so tightly that the release has become impossible. Afraid of what happens if it actually lands. Afraid of what becomes required of you once you step fully into the expansion you have been asking for.

This Full Moon wants you to look honestly at all of it. Not with judgment, but with the kind of clear eyes the archer needs before the shot. You cannot aim well if you are pretending not to see what is in the way.

The next six months are not about overhauling everything. They are about alignment. They are about letting the outside of your life begin to match what you already know on the inside of yourself. Because Sagittarius does not ask you to leap blindly. It asks you to stop pretending you cannot see what you have already been looking directly at.

You do not have to have the whole plan. You do not have to know every step. But you do have to be willing to ask the question with some real honesty behind it. Not the version of the question that keeps you comfortable and contained. The version that has a little heat in it. The version your body already knows the answer to before your mind has finished forming the thought.

What does freedom actually look like for you, in this season, in this body, in this life? Not the inherited version. Not the version that looks right from the outside. Your version.

The one that fits the life you are actually living and the person you are actually becoming. That is your arrow. And this Full Moon is asking you to draw the bow.

Full Moon Reflection

Sit with these before the moon is full.

01 In what area of my life am I feeling the pull toward more freedom, expansion, or exploration right now?
02 What is actually standing between me and the flow of that expansion — is it a situation, a person, a belief, or myself?
03 Where have I been holding back and calling it wisdom when it might actually be fear?
04 What would it feel like in my body to finally release the arrow and trust where it lands?
